Molo

Molo

Molo started out in 1999 to create usable and durable children's clothing.  The company was first known as Vilmund as was created by Louise Frederiksen in Copenhagen.  Louise graduated from the Danish

Design School and in 2002 merged with Mogens Jepsen.  He is the General Manager and Co- Owner of the company.  He graduated with an MBA and from there worked at Espirit Nordic and IC Companies.  Mogens decided it was time for a move to a different company with more opportunity such as Molo offered.  Molo is not a large company.  In fact they began as a way to produce children's clothing as their only line because kids are the most important.  Clothing for children is a way to offer self confidence and freedom of expression at Molo.

The design and style of Molo is perhaps one of the least stuffy.  At Molo the product is more about durability and quality with a stab at expression.  They didn't want to create the same lines as other children's clothing or pastel colours.  Children are vibrant and therefore the clothing design from Molo had to follow in that line of thinking.  This means that while they have dresses, skirts, shirts, and pants the designs are unique and the clothes are fun rather than elegant.

The clothing style is simplistic as far as the cuts go.  The material used to create the clothes is far from simple though.  It is a wonderful array of rainbow colours.  They have pullover jackets in blue offering a pocket in the front for the hands, a hood to keep warm, and a partial zipper.  This jacket has taken the style a bit further than a regular pullover.  Most pullovers with the half zipper leave skin exposed to the cold wind, but with their design you have cotton to protect the neck and shoulders from getting too cold.  Their dresses are not formfitting, but they offer a scoop neck with short sleeves and almost every colour from the rainbow in a stripe pattern.  Their pants are utility style in that they offer many pockets.  The pants are designed to fit children snugly, but not with a lack of comfort.  The pockets allow for anything a child might want to carry such as toys.  The pant legs are a little looser than the waist.

Molo also offers shorts and tee shirts of varying styles that children can be comfortable in as well as envied.
