Hidehiko Yamane, for many years, has been one of the finest connoisseurs of jeans around, acting as an expert and making demands that only certain avid Japaneese follower, or 'okatu' can be. Quickly
On one of his famous trips searching for above average pieces, Hidehiko came across a 1950's American loom that had the capability of weaving 40 meters of 'selvedge' denim per day. With this revolutionary discovery, he made a personal decision to produce jeans that are up to his high standards for people like himself. With this decision, Hidehiko Yamane began the road to success as a tailor, rather than calling himself a designer.
This exclusive line of jean products named Evis after the Buddist god of prosperity, were made in Osaka with pure American cotton. Once the jeans were finished, Hidehiko painted his own famous seagull logo on each article personally which turned into a very long process that become quite expensive in the end and only completed approximately a dozen pairs of jeans a day.
During the early 1990's this vintage trend that included the Evis jeans were becoming increasingly more in demand around the world and when 1997 came around, Evisu jeans took the leap of faith and started to be made on license in Italy with the famous Japanese denim that Evis were known for. This step forward helped bring the world Evisu jeans and expand their production immensely.
The fashion market today is well aware of the little Osaka trademark, and has become famous all around the world. With over 400 shops worldwide and more than 50 locations in Japan alone, the Evisu line of unique clothing continues to grow and expand adding new branches to the company. Evisu Shoes, Evisu European Edition and Kizzu are all spin-offs of this original idea that become just a thought in Hidehiko's world a few years ago.
The children's line of Evisu includes a variety of items such as denim jackets, bodysuits, tshirts, as well as the traditional jeans that Evisu is famous for. Dresses for little girls sport the well-known seagull logo in stylish colours such as pink and purple with underlying patterns. Embroidery is used to embelish the jean jackets for children ages 0 ? 8 years of age. If you want your children to stay trendy and up-to-date, using Evisu is definitely part of that process.
